Detroit Michigan Medical Marijuana law ballot gets snuffed
In the most recent news posted at the MPP website, we found out that Detroit has had there bill rejected to even be voted on in the November elections. You can read the MPP article if you want there take on exactly what happened. While we normally support all groups that are pro medical marijuana, a city going against the laws of the state and the federal law seems like its just not a good use of time.
We would much rather see the group of supporters grow to a level that can approach the state level laws in order to make Michigan one of the legal medical marijuana states. On top of that, states tend to have a hard enough time dealing with all the medical marijuana cards, issuance of licenses to become caregivers, and keeping dispensaries and cardholders accountable to the laws. Do you really think at a city level that Detroit is going to be able to support all this? Thanks to all those who are pushing the government in legalizing marijuana, and keep up your efforts but make sure they don’t stop at the city level.
